Kimi Raikkonen says his results this season do not reflect the progress he has made with Ferrari.
Since rejoining the team in 2014, Raikkonen has endured two lacklustre seasons at Ferrari and this year has scored just two podiums compared to team-mate Sebastian Vettel's 12. However, Raikkonen believes he has yet to show his true potential in the Ferrari and is looking forward to a fresh start in 2016.
"I think we've gone forward in many areas, even if the results in the last two races were pretty bad," he said. "I think we know where we are and have to do a better job with no mistakes. I don't think we need to do anything different from what we've been doing so far as we've been doing a great job as a team so far.
"We're going in the right direction, we're going to give our maximum in this final three races, and then put all the effort over the winter to prepare for next year. Obviously we'll have a new car, it will be a different year but we just have to stick to our plans and continue going in the direction we've been heading to."
Raikkonen said his goal remains to win championships at Ferrari and believes the team is on the right path to get there.
"In many ways it is a changed team. It's a nice place to be, again, things have changed a lot, some people have changed too but it's a very solid team, the atmosphere is good and, obviously, the results help. We all know why we are here, we want to fight for championships and win races and we're happier when things are better but, as Ferrari, we're still not where we want to be and hopefully next year we can be there.
"But who knows? Will only know when we'll put the new cars in the circuit next year, but Ferrari is a great place to be and the team is being run in a very nice way. I think everybody appreciates in the team where we got to in a very short period of time."
