Nico Rosberg has revealed that he has been struggling to find the right feel from his car's brakes since last season and has had to adapt his natural style to cater for the issue.
Drivers use different brake materials to suit the tyre of feel and performance they want from the brakes. Rosberg says he has tried different materials and suppliers, but the issue dates back to last year and progress has been very slow.
"There are no particular big problems with the car at the moment except my usual issues with the brakes which is a long-term thing and not easy to solve," he said. "It is feel, personal feel, it goes back to last season. It's difficult to put right because it has taken so long and we have not had much progress at all.
"It takes six months to make a new pair of discs and if they are the right ones then it takes another six months to get a whole set to race. It's a very long process and there is not really any hope at the moment for a quick improvement.
"I've tried a lot of things and this is the best we've found so far. It's been such a long time that I just have accepted it and just get on with it and learn to drive with it."
However, team-mate Lewis Hamilton said there is nothing specifically wrong with the brakes on either car, even if Rosberg is struggling with the feel.
"He was perfectly fine with the brakes at the last race. I'm just letting you know because I know the data and he knows you're going to ask me about that! But I don't have any problems with the brakes."
