No. 12 Alabama could be without sophomore offensive guard Michael Carroll for Saturday's game at Kentucky.

Carroll, the standout right guard who checks in at 6-foot-6 and 324 pounds, was listed as doubtful on the official injury report on Wednesday night. He's the only returning starter from last season's offensive line.

Carroll, the former No. 1-ranked offensive guard in the 2025 class who was a freshman All-America last season, started six games at right tackle in 2025 before moving inside to guard this offseason.

He played 74 snaps in Alabama's 48-10 season-opening win over East Carolina last weekend, and he did not give up a sack.

Former Ole Miss transfer Ethan Fields is listed as the second-string right guard on the team's official depth chart. The 6-foot-3, 313-pound senior logged only seven snaps against East Carolina.

Notably, starting left guard William Sanders did not appear on the injury report after being sidelined in the opener with what offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb described as an oblique injury.

Alabama rotated Sanders and Mal Waldrep Jr. at left guard for much of preseason camp.

Saturday will mark the first road start and first SEC game for quarterback Keelon Russell.

The second-year player excelled in his debut against East Carolina, throwing for 256 yards and rushing for 86 yards and a touchdown.
