Worcester lock Phil Murphy has agreed a two-year contract with his former club Leeds Carnegie. Murphy, 28, a Leeds academy product, will return to Yorkshire this summer after joining Worcester in 2004.
Murphy moved to Sixways having played 60 games for the then Leeds Tykes, where he played in the Guinness Premiership alongside his older brother Chris and represented England at Under-21 level.
He has been an integral part of the Worcester squad since joining them on their promotion to the Guinness Premiership for the 2004-05 season. In the four seasons that have followed, he has made 83 appearances for the Warriors.
Commenting on signing for Leeds Carnegie, Beverley-born Murphy said: "I am really excited about coming back home to Leeds Carnegie and rejoining the club. Leeds has always had a special place in my heart having begun my senior career here back in 2000 and now I want to help the club get back into the Guinness Premiership next season."
Director of Rugby Stuart Lancaster said: "Phil has shown that he has matured into an experienced Premiership rugby player during his time at Worcester.
"Importantly he is someone who knows our club and the culture we have here and I am sure as a Yorkshireman he will be relishing the chance to call Headingley Carnegie his home once again."
