Tigers pick up Crane

Leicester Tigers have today announced the signing of Leeds number eight, Jordan Crane. The 19-year-old has captained England at both Under 18 and Under 19 levels and will be a superb addition to the Tigers squad.

Tigers Forwards Coach, Richard Cockerill, believes Crane will prove to be an astute signing.

"Jordan is the outstanding back row forward of his age group and comes to us very highly rated," says Cockerill. "He's looking to further his career in the Guinness Premiership after Leeds were relegated, and we believe he can develop into a world-class forward to compliment the players we already have in the squad."

Crane, who is a product of Colston's School in Bristol, made his first team debut for Leeds against Grenoble in 2004, aged only 18. As part of this season's England Under 21 Grand Slam winning team, Jordan has already played alongside Tigers' Matt Cornwell and Tom Croft.

The Bromsgrove-born player will no doubt be looking to impress when he meets up with his new club mates for pre-season training.
