Northampton today announced the signing of former New Zealand All Blacks scrum-half Mark Robinson.
The 27-year-old, who scored a try for the Barbarians against England at Twickenham last weekend, has agreed terms with Saints and can expect several first-team opportunities next season, especially when Matt Dawson is away on World Cup duty.
Robinson won three Test caps - against England (1998), Scotland (2001) and Argentina (2001) - and played Super 12 rugby for Auckland Blues.
He also captained North Harbour in New Zealand's National Provincial Championship, but linked up earlier this year with the New Zealand Warriors rugby league side after failing to secure a Blues Super 12 contract.
Robinson becomes Saints' second major signing for next term, following Bristol Shoguns' Australian fly-half Shane Drahm to Franklin's Gardens.
