Ferrari academy driver Charles Leclerc has completed his first shakedown with an old Formula One car after testing the F2012 at Fiorano.
Leclerc tested for Ferrari earlier this year after the British Grand Prix, where he had made his F1 debut for Haas in FP1. The Monegasque driver currently holds a healthy lead in the GP3 standings with two rounds still to play for.
On Friday, while the F1 paddock commenced the first day of testing for the Mexican Grand Prix, Leclerc was driving at Ferrari's test facility.

Having only tested V6 turbo cars this season, Leclerc was clearly impressed with the grunt of the modified 2012 car's V8 engine.

Despite testing for Haas, Guenther Steiner has ruled out the possibility of Leclerc next season as the team wants drivers with F1 experience. Recent reports in Italy suggest Leclerc will step up to GP2 with the Prema team in 2017.
