Rio Haryanto will take a drop of three grid positions at his debut grand prix and has been hit with two penalty points on his superlicence after a pit lane collision in FP3.
Haryanto made contact with Romain Grosjean in the pit lane as he exited his garage at the start of FP3, pinning the Haas against the pit wall. The stewards deemed the Indonesian to be at fault and issued the penalty ahead of qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix.
"The driver of car 88 [Haryanto] left the team garage and did not pay attention to the apporoaching car which was in the fast lane."
Haryanto finished the session at the bottom of the time sheets.
