Nico Rosberg is not convinced his advantage during Friday practice for the British Grand Prix is representative of his true position ahead of qualifying on Saturday.
Rosberg was 0.347s clear of Kimi Raikkonen in second and held a 0.466s advantage over Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton in fourth. But with conditions forecast to be cooler on race day he is not reading too much into the times at this stage.
"No, I'm not that happy," he said. "The car was a bit all over the place still.
"I think it was the track out there, it was just really difficult. Especially if it was hotter now than it will be on Sunday for the race, so we need to be careful with that. Definitely the balance that was good today is not going to be ideal for Sunday, by far.
"The balance changes a lot and which tyre wears the most like front end or rear end, everything changes with temperature. It's going to be difficult."
Asked about Hamilton's deficit: "I don't know what he did on his lap. It's not representative. I think it's close and I just need to do my homework."
