Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Player of the Match: I was thinking to kick my stumps after the first over but we stepped up and I am glad we did. I just think sticking to the same process, backing your training...and it's just cool and awesome to have the coaching staff we do and a lot of senior players back you; it's really cool. A good night's rest will be a good start. Sunrisers have a world-class bowling attack, so reset, recharge and go again

We were treated to a run-fest and it's Paarl Royals who live to fight another day while the tournament comes to an end for the Joburg Super Kings. Both teams were without the services of some of their vital cogs but it was Paarl Royals who played better cricket on the big night. They put up an imposing total and got significant contributions from both the top order and the lower middle order, which propelled the score past 200 and gave them a psychological advantage as well. The bowlers then held up their end of the bargain, keeping things tight and not allowing the Super Kings to unleash an onslaught for long periods. Viljoen was the pick of the bowlers once again, troubling the batters with his searing pace and accuracy, returning figures of 3 for 24. Raza did Raza things, backing up his batting performance with a tight spell of 1 for 26. Fortuin was good as usual and handy in the powerplay and middle overs. It's a bowling unit that got the job done. Paarl Royals now ride high on confidence heading into Qualifier 2 at the Wanderers against Sunrisers Eastern Cape. JSK needed more partnerships to get closer to the target but the steady loss of wickets hampered their progress
