That's all we've got for you today from Perth. Do join us for the series opener from the same venue on January 12. Until then, it's goodbye from all of us here at the commentary desk. Cheers

Another walk in the park for the Indians. They may have felt a little short-changed with their batting effort, but with the ball and on the field, they have been quite efficient. A couple of catches went down and they bowled a few extras, but largely achieved what they set out to do before the game. Barinder Sran, Rishi Dhawan got a good work out with the new ball, Ashwin-Axar-Jadeja were brilliant in the middle, while Umesh was pacy and generated good bounce. With the bat, Rohit Sharma was the top scorer while Manish Pandey made a vital contribution in the middle. Wonder if that means he pips Gurkeerat for a middle order slot come Tuesday. Only time will tell.

WA XI would feel disappointed with their batting effort, but the experience of facing an international attack should help them going forward. Carder looked solid while he was there, while Morgan chipped in nicely towards the end, but couldn't go for the big hits as wickets kept tumbling at the other end. In terms of a result, this has been one-way traffic all the way, but there were a few moments of cheer for the hosts. James Murihead, who was part of the Australia squad for the World T20 in 2014, gave a good account of himself, as did the other bowlers, who managed to tie down some accomplished Indian batsmen.

Gurkeerat Singh to O'Connor, OUT, nicely tossed up, he looks to fetch the slog from outside off, only manages to get the toe end that lobs high in the air towards long on where Umesh Yadav makes no mistake.
