Gurley unsure on status, but clear on NCAA views

As he continues to deal with a thigh contusion suffered in Week 5, Rams running back Todd Gurley said Thursday that a decision would be made about his availability for Sunday's game against the 49ers "when the time comes."

Rams' Gurley (thigh) doesn't practice; day-to-day

Rams coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Todd Gurley's thigh contusion "kind of caught us all off guard" and that the running back is considered day-to-day ahead of Los Angeles' Week 6 matchup against San Francisco.

Bucs left tackle Donovan Smith was fined $28,075 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Rams cornerback Marcus Peters, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
