Pirates part with Elias Diaz, sign Erik Gonzalez

Catcher Elias Diaz became a free agent after the Pirates declined to offer him a contract for the 2020 season on Monday. Pittsburgh did agree to a $725,000, one-year contract with shortstop Erik Gonzalez.

Pirates fire GM, hire ex-Pens COO as president

The Pirates have fired GM Neal Huntington, who had been in the role since September 2007. In addition, Travis Williams was named president, replacing Frank Coonelly. The team has still not hired a manager.
