Paris Saint-Germain closed out a tense 2-1 win over Le Classique rivals Marseille, who finished with 10 men at Stade Velodrome.

Substitute Ferran Torres headed PSG in front after 66 minutes, but Angel Gomes soon equalised for the home side.

PSG responded almost immediately when captain Marquinhos fired in from a corner to put them back in front with 16 minutes left before Marseille captain Timothy Weah was sent off for a second caution.

Despite the hostile welcome, PSG made a positive start as Fabian Ruiz's flick on found Ousmane Dembélé, who sent an attempted lob over Marseille keeper Jeffrey de Lange which dropped onto the roof of the net.

Marseille sparked into life after 24 minutes when Pierre-Emile Højbjerg saw his 20-yard effort fly straight at PSG keeper Matvey Safonov.

The home side were then forced into an early change when winger Igor Paixão landed awkwardly as he jumped with Warren Zaïre-Emery, and following treatment went off to be replaced by Gomes on the half-hour.

Neal Maupay then sent a left-foot shot from the centre of the box just wide before Gomes blasted his effort over.

PSG -- who have started the 2026-27 campaign sluggishly, failing to win any of their opening three league games before edging past Brest last weekend -- regrouped ahead of half-time.

Zaïre-Emery nodded a cross from the left by Désiré Doué just wide before Dembele sent a rising drive from outside the box over.

PSG were soon on the front foot again early in the second half as Joao Neves' header was saved before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia saw his shot deflected just wide.

Nuno Mendes found Dembele with a deep cross-field pass, but the French striker slid his shot off target, before Neves planted his header over.

Torres, who had not long replaced Kvaratskhelia on the hour, finally made the breakthrough for PSG in the 66th minute.

Doue swung the ball over from the left and Torres got up to put his header into the top corner from six yards out.

Marseille were soon back on level terms in the 72nd minute.

Højbjerg won possession in the middle and fed Amine Gouiri, who strode forwards and played in Gomes to fire past Safonov from close range.

PSG, though, responded straight away when Marquinhos fired home just two minutes later after his initial effort from a corner had been saved.

Marseille were reduced to 10 men with 15 minutes left when defender Weah collected a second yellow card for pulling back Mendes as Bruno Genesio's side slipped to a fourth league defeat from five games.
