COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Te'a Cooper hit 4 of 5 3-pointers and scored 16 points, leading No. 25 South Carolina past Temple 88-60 on Friday night in the 600th game as a head coach for the Gamecocks' Dawn Staley.
Tyasha Harris added 12 points for South Carolina (7-4), which had a season-high 15 3-pointers in 31 attempts.
Staley left Temple after eight seasons and a 172-80 record and is in her 11th season with the Gamecocks, going 257-91.
Cooper hit a 3 to start a 12-2 run, ended by a Destanni Henderson 3, that put the Gamecocks up for good 20-12. They were 5 of 7 behind the arc in the first quarter.
The Owls were within 44-35 at halftime but South Carolina dominated the third quarter 27-6, including a 13-0 run that started with three different players knocking down 3-pointers. The Gamecocks were 9 of 17 in the third quarter, 5 of 9 from distance. Temple was 2 of 17, missing all five of its treys.
Alliya Butts led Temple (3-7), which shot 33 percent for the game, with 19 points. The Owls are coached by Tonya Cardoza, who replaced Staley and was her teammate at Virginia from 1989-91.
