At the end of the Texans' spring workouts, Bill O'Brien said he felt quarterback Deshaun Watson did "an excellent job of improving the things that we've asked him to improve" during the offseason. "His grasp of our offense is light years ahead of where it was, obviously, when he first got here, but I would say even last year," O'Brien said. "I think we've really gotten better there and I'm excited about where he's at right now."

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, on Wednesday, the Patriots filed tampering charges against the Texans for the attempted hire of Nick Caserio. On Tuesday, head coach Bill O'Brien was asked whether he or Jack Easterby had any contact with Caserio or his representatives before Brian Gaine was fired. "I would say that the answer to that is no relative to contact about anything having to do with the Houston Texans," O'Brien said. "No."
