SAN ANTONIO -- Liam Thomas had 14 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocks and Nicholls beat Incarnate Word 77-68 on Thursday night.
Jahvaughn Powell had 18 points and eight assists and Jonathan Bell added 17 points and 11 rebounds for Nicholls (13-15, 6-9 Southland).
The game stayed close for the first 25 minutes and then the Colonels had a 17-3 run to lead 57-42 with 10:48 left. The Cardinals (11-16, 6-10) answered with a 10-point rally but got no closer.
Simi Socks had 22 points, Jalin Hart added 18 and Sam Burmeister scored 16 for Incarnate Word.
