Eastleigh and Halifax earned a share of the spoils as they played out a goalless draw at the Silverlake Stadium.
Chris Zebroski was denied by a good save by Sam Johnson before Cavaghn Miley shot wide and Sam Matthews blazed over the crossbar as Eastleigh dominated the first half but they could not break down the Halifax defence.
Matty Kosylo missed a chance for the visitors after skilfully beating two defenders before a last-ditch tackle from Reda Johnson denied the winger while, at the other end, Johnson went close on two occasions to break the deadlock but could not get his efforts on target.
Paul McCallum failed to make contact with a Matthews cut-back as the hosts pressed but the Shaymen held on to move five points clear of the relegation zone.
