Raphinha scores second hat trick in two games as Barcelona beat Sevilla
Raphinha scored a second consecutive hat trick as Barcelona came from behind to beat Sevilla 3-1 and extend their winning start to eight straight games.
Only three days after scoring three in Barca's 7-2 rout of Racing Santander, the 29-year-old moved to 14 goals for the season in all competitions with another stunning display.
Youssouf Fofana had headed the hosts in front in the 19th minute but Raphinha led a swift and decisive response from the champions.
Within three minutes, Andreas Christensen threaded a pass through for Raphinha who left Arouna Sangante on the floor before sending a low shot into the corner of the net.
The Brazilian's second goal, seven minutes into the second half, was a header as Lamine Yamal picked up a rebound and chipped the ball into the box.
Raphinha hit the post in the 64th minute but his third goal arrived five minutes later as Rodri found the run of Yamal, who in turn slipped it through for Raphinha to score with a clipped finish.
Sevilla had started well, with Rodri making a critical interception on a dangerous cross from Felix Correia just two minutes in.
But Yamal was then desperately close to opening the scoring when Odysseas Vlachodimos did just enough to push his thunderous strike on to the post.
The visitors then wanted a penalty when Pau Cubarsí went down, claiming a push from Andrés Castrín, but the appeals were waved away.
Sevilla soon took the lead, with Correia driving down the left and sending in an excellent cross to the near post where Fofana headed home.
The lead would last only three minutes before Raphinha levelled, but it remained a good contest, with Sevilla's press causing Barcelona problems.
The visitors were claiming a penalty again in the 35th minute when Yamal collided with Lucien Agoumé but again the officials were not interested.
The first half ended with Pedri blazing wide when well placed and the second began with Yamal narrowly missing the target with a shot aimed towards the near post.
Barcelona looked to have taken a step up and were rewarded by Raphinha's second goal, only to then lose Christensen to injury moments later.
Raphinha should have had his third when he struck the upright from close range, but it took only five minutes for the mistake to be rectified as Yamal laid on the assist, and Sevilla were no doubt delighted to see him replaced by Karim Adeyemi in the 77th minute.
But Adeyemi almost added a fourth at the death when he broke though on goal only to shoot straight at the goalkeeper.
