Man Utd v Bournemouth
Michael Carrick woe worsens, Man United lose to Bournemouth
The pressure on Michael Carrick grew as Manchester United slumped to a limp 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.
Carrick had left Bruno Fernandes out of the team for the Premier League clash -- and didn't bring him off the bench -- after his criticism of the team's tactics following a 4-1 humbling against Como in midweek in the Champions League.
But with Fernandes looking on from the bench, his teammates were soundly beaten at Old Trafford.
Rayan, Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson scored the goals for the away side to leave Carrick's job under more scrutiny than ever.
Carrick later told Sky Sports about leaving Fernandes on the bench: "There are always times in games when you try to make decisions to try and change the course of play, to try to make a difference. These were the decisions that we made today."
He added: "It's a tough situation. I won't hide from it. What's next? I really don't know. I'll do what's best for this football club, I've said that all along and I don't change that now. I love what I do and I love the position I am in. I feel the responsibility."
