Roberto Mancini claimed his first win back in charge of Italy with a comfortable 4-1 Nations League victory over Türkiye in Bursa.

Mancini's second spell at the helm began with a 2-0 defeat to Belgium on Friday, but his team responded against Türkiye, putting in a ruthless first half display with goals from Alessandro Bastoni, Davide Frattesi and Michael Kayode.

Baris Alper Yilmaz pulled one back for the hosts soon after the break, but Pio Esposito quickly replied for Italy to secure their first win in Group A1, moving them into third in the standings.

The Azzurri return to action on Friday with a clash against France at the Stade de France.

Italy made eight changes from the defeat to Belgium with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sandro Tonali and Pio Esposito the only three players to keep their spot in the starting eleven.

They threatened from kickoff when Giacomo Raspadori sliced a strike wide and Altay Bayindir was called into action to tip Pio Esposito's effort around the post.

Their impressive start was rewarded only nine minutes in when Bastoni fired into the roof of the net from a corner.

Italy continued to push and they doubled the lead in the 22nd minute when Kayode's shot was pushed away by Bayindir, but Frattesi pounced on the loose ball to tap home.

Only five minutes later, Kayode extended their advantage with a goal on his debut, finishing off a well-worked team move with a low strike past Bayindir.

Donnarumma made the save from Arda Güler, but Italy looked to strike again when Sebastiano Esposito had an effort blocked and Raspadori fired wide.

Türkiye then replied two minutes after the restart when Yilmaz hit a low shot into an empty net from Oguz Aydin's pass across the box.

However, Italy soon restored their three-goal cushion in the 50th minute when Tonali's strike rattled the post and the rebound reached Pio Esposito, who nodded past Bayindir.

Guler and Yilmaz both had shots blocked as the hosts looked to get back into the game and Nicolò Cambiaghi shortly had a strike saved by Bayindir.

A late push from Türkiye saw Kerem Akturkoglu's effort blocked by Giorgio Scalvini and Guler then blasted over the crossbar.

Guler was frustrated again as another shot was blocked, this time by Alessandro Romano, and Donnarumma saved Oguz Aydin's strike as Italy secured victory.
