Barcelona v Bayern
Barcelona overcome Bayern in thriller to reach sixth successive final
Barcelona will play OL Lyonnes in the final of the Women's Champions League after Alexia Putellas' brace helped them to a 4-2 semifinal second-leg win over Bayern Munich to go through 5-3 on aggregate.
The showpiece in Oslo on May 23 will be the fourth time in eight seasons that the pair have met in the final, with Barca looking for a repeat of their victory over the French side in 2024.
The last-four tie was finally balanced after a 1-1 draw a week earlier in Germany, and after Salma Paralluelo had given Barca a 13th-minute lead, turning in Caroline Graham Hansen's low cross, Linda Dallmann slid in to finish Pernille Harder's pass to level things up once again.
Putellas got the first of her two goals to send her side in ahead 3-2 on aggregate at the three-quarter point in the tie, finishing nicely after Bayern failed to deal properly with a cross into their box.
The semifinal was then transformed in the space of four second-half minutes.
In the 54th minute, Paralluelo sent over a cross from the left that was met thunderously by the head of Ewa Pajor, towering over her defender to score her ninth goal in the competition this season.
Moments later, Georgia Stanway was guilty of conceding a free-kick in a dangerous position, from which Esmee Brugts sent a header across goal that was gratefully turned home by Putellas for her second and Barca's fifth goal of the tie, awarded after a lengthy VAR check for a possible offside.
That as good as finished off Bayern's hopes of making the final, but they hit back with a late consolation after Dallmann intercepted a loose pass from Aitana Bonmatí and picked out Harder who finished beyond goalkeeper Cata Coll.
It was Bonmati's first involvement in the game having coming on a second-half substitute, her first appearance since suffering a broken leg in November.
