Wellington Phoenix missed the chance to go top of the A-League as they were held to a goalless draw at Melbourne City.
Neither side had enough in them to break the deadlock during this midtable battle and the point leaves Wellington fifth, just one point behind leaders Melbourne Victory.
City remain eight points further behind in sixth after extending their unbeaten run to five matches ahead of Sunday's trip to high-flying Perth Glory.
On Saturday, Adelaide United lost 3-2 to Brisbane Roar while Central Coast Mariners defeated Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0.
