Commentary
Sporting start their Champions League campaign in the perfect fashion, beating Galatasaray 3-1 in a thoroughly entertaining game. It was Gala who began the better of the sides, taking the lead in the first five minutes. Torreira’s deflected effort looked to have been saved by Silva, but the referee awarded the goal, in which it was clear to see that the ball crossed the line after watching a replay. Inacio was the unfortunate recipient of the opener, with Torreira’s first Champions League goal being taken away from him. Suarez had a goal disallowed for Sporting due to Araujo drifting offside in the build-up, but they did equalise in the 27th minute, courtesy of a snatched volley by Catamo. Sane went closest to giving either side a half-time lead, but he couldn't curl his strike the right side of the woodwork. Sporting were given a chance to go in front for the first time just before the hour mark, after Suarez was brought down by Jakobs in the area. After a lengthy VAR check, the penalty was given, and Suarez smashed his strike into the bottom-left corner. Just six minutes later, Zalazar whipped a delightful free-kick into the top-left corner, scoring the final of the four goals this evening. Galatasaray tried to get back into the match, but their efforts in the final quarter of the 90 were not rewarded with a goal. Sporting ended the night with 1.55 xG from eight shots, whilst Gala accumulated 1.02 xG from 10 efforts. It was a perfect start to the Champions League for Sporting, who next face Lens in France. For Galatasaray, they may have thought that their troubles on the road in this competition had faded when they took the early lead, but they just continue to be a problem for the Turkish side. Luckily for them, they return to RAMS Park for their next match. Unluckily however, they host Barcelona... Thank you all for tuning into our coverage tonight, have a fantastic evening!

Sporting have been a joy to watch tonight, and the three in midfield have played a huge part. Doumbia, Altimira, and Zalazar have all been at the top of their game, outclassing their opponents.
There will be a minimum of four minutes of added time. Gala look to be out of ideas.
Gala just beginning to put more pressure on the Sporting defence, but the hosts have dealt with everything thrown at them in the last 10 minutes.
