Atletico Madrid get their first Champions League win of the season at the expense of ailing Manchester United, finishing the contest soon after their visitors were reduced to 10 men. Leading by one goal for more than an hour, after Barrios opened the scoring within 47 seconds, Atleti eventually sealed the deal when Yoro was sent off and substitute Lookman made the most of some extra space to turn home from close range. In between, Cardoso had a goal chalked off by the VAR and both teams struck the goal-frame, with Grimaldo's free-kick clipping the angle and Alvarez hitting the post before United captain Bruno Fernandes curled a stunner against the crossbar.
