Sharp with 185 yards as James Madison downs Delaware 20-10
NEWARK, Del. -- Trai Sharp ran for 185 yards and a score as James Madison remained unbeaten, downing Delaware 20-10 on Saturday.
Bryan Schor threw for 93 yards for the Dukes (5-0, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association). Tyler Grey kicked two field goals.
Sharp scored from 6 yards out with 6:57 to go in the first quarter following a 59-yard run to set up the touchdown.
The Blue Hens (2-2, 0-1) went ahead 10-7 on a Joe Walker pass early in the second quarter. But defensive lineman Andrew Ankrah recovered a Walker fumble on Delaware's next drive and ran 23 yards for a score, giving the Dukes the lead, 14-10. Grey made it 17-10 with a 39-yard field goal with one second left in the half.
Grey missed a 28-yard attempt late in the third but made good on a 48-yard attempt late in the fourth to seal the win.
Walker finished with 47 yards and a score passing for Delaware.
