Commentary
Spurs finally get their win! It may have looked a little nervy before Davies made sure of the points, but the home side will be delighted to take the win and move off the foot of the table, beating Coventry 3-1 this evening. The hosts started well and Maddison's scorching shot was a worthy opener on 14 minutes. Despite it giving De Zerbi's side confidence, they couldn't find a second and went in at the break just one goal to the good. Coventry were always going to test the resolve of Spurs and had their own chances, with Cherif and Thomas-Asante always dangerous on the counter. But it was Rudoni who showed more desire than anyone as he stumbled and buffeted his way past a series of challenges and rebounds to squeeze home the equaliser on 49 minutes. Spurs got back ahead less than 10 minutes later though through another wonderful strike. This time it was Marmoush who wrapped a wonderful shot into the far corner from the opposite side to Maddison. Davies made sure with a speculative shot after a tired Coventry defence failed to clear their lines. Spurs' xG of 0.87 was only marginally better than Coventry's xG of 0.82. But for once, Spurs' execution in the final third was brilliant. Spurs move to six points and level with tonight's opponents but ahead on goal difference. Spurs sit in 16th with Coventry 17th. Thank you for joining us tonight and goodbye!
FULL-TIME: SPURS 3-1 COVENTRY

GAME OVER!! DAVIES MAKES THE POINTS SAFE!! 3-1 SPURS!! A soft goal to concede if you are a Coventry fan. The ball bobbles around the box and is not cleared convincingly. The ball is stabbed to Davies, who sticks out a rather optimistic flick and hits it with the outside of his stronger left foot from outside the area. It heads towards Rushworth and somehow squeezes under his glove and into the net.
It is Solanke who gets the assist by showing enough desire to prod it to his teammate ahead of his opponent getting to the ball.
A Coventry corner is headed away but Kulusevski cant keep hold of it on the break. More pressure coming for the home side. They ride out the storm and Gallagher is able to drive forward and threaten, but his tempting, low cross swept into the Coventry box misses his teammates who don't gamble.
TEL STRIKES JUST WIDE!! Nice play from Tel who drags the ball constantly with his right boot, tempting the challenge, and as he approaches the penalty area, he goes for goal with a curling effort, but it sets off just too wide of the post to be able to come back inside the frame and beat Rushworth.
