Commentary
The full-time whistle sounds as Everton continue their unbeaten Premier League run after drawing 2-2 with Hull City at MKM Stadium! Everton had the ball in the back of the net in the 34th minute after Johnson stabbed home at the back post, but after a VAR check, the goal was disallowed for offside against the Wales international. Gelhardt and Mendy had opportunities to give Hull the lead, before Barry headed over Grealish’s left-wing centre at the other end. The Tigers took the lead three minutes into the second half as Maitland-Niles’ error was capitalised by Gelhardt, who lifted a cute finish over Pickford. However, Maitland-Niles made amends for his error as he set up Dewsbury-Hall to head in Everton’s equaliser in the 55th minute. After missing an open goal from close range, Barry emphatically found the top-right corner after Thomas’ loose pass was intercepted by Dewsbury-Hall. However, the action did not stop there as substitute Belloumi rolled a finish into the bottom-right corner after being picked out by Stroud from the byline. The hosts created nine shots with five on target, reflected by an xG of 1.33, whereas the visitors registered 15 shots with seven on target, highlighted by an xG of 1.71. Everton remain fifth in the Premier League table with Hull sitting a point below in ninth. That concludes our live commentary of this entertaining contest. We hope you enjoyed it.
