Missouri State ground game churns out 48-14 win over FCS-member Lindenwood
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- — Ramone Green Jr. ran for two touchdowns and Missouri State recorded six rushing touchdowns in a 48-14 win over FCS-member Lindenwood on Saturday.
Green crashed in from the 1-yard line on both his scoring runs. Breezy Dubar scored from the 10, Isaiah Myers had a 24-yard touchdown jaunt, Connor Lair punched it in from the 1 and Henry Belin IV did so from the 16.
Green's second touchdown with 7:13 left in the third ended a 10-play, 69-yard drive that lasted 4:21 and pushed the Bears' lead (1-1) to 41-0.
The Lions (1-2) got on the board when Pops Battle threw a 15-yard touchdown to Drew Krobath three minutes later. Lindenwood ended the scoring for both teams when Battle threw a 32-yard touchdown to Elijah Roy with 12:21 left to play.
Missouri State's Skyler Locklear completed 17 of 20 passes for 258 yards and a touchdown. His 72-yard scoring pass to Myers with 10:01 before halftime made it 27-0. In addition to his 24-yard touchdown run, Myers amassed 155 yards receiving on five receptions.
Battle threw for 105 yards and two scores to go with an interception.
Lindenwood: Travels to Eastern Michigan on Sept. 26.
Missouri State: Hosts Marshall on Saturday.
