Sherrock fails to qualify for Darts World Championships, while Ashton returns

Trailblazing darts player Fallon Sherrock has failed to qualify for the 2021 PDC World Darts Championship, while Lisa Ashton and Deta Hedman secure their places in the event due to start in December.

The PDC Women's Series finale on Sunday saw Sherrock, who last year became the first woman to beat a man in the world championships, finish outside the top two with only two slots available for the world championships.

Ashton will return for a second time, while Hedman, 60, will make her debut in the tournament which is hosted at Alexandra Palace in London.

Hedman will become the sixth different woman to compete at a darts world championships.
