Serena and Venus Williams will face All Blacks brothers Julian and Ardie Savea in a charity doubles match to raise money for the Kaikoura earthquake fund.

The match will take place before next month's ASB Classic on Jan. 1 with tournament director Karl Budge saying on 1NEWS it will be a "mix of sibling doubles and mixed doubles".

"It's not a bad little sibling matchup, two of the best rugby players in the world taking on two of the best tennis players in the world," Budge said.

"I'm not sure what the girls' rugby skills are like or the boys' tennis skills.

"There will probably be a bit of a dance-off between them at some point, too. Both groups rate themselves on the d-floor.

"I think it will be fun, it's one of those uniquely Kiwi things."

The Williams sisters have 29 grand slam singles titles between them and a further 14 in doubles while Julian Savea -- whose nickname is 'The Bus' -- has won the World Cup with New Zealand and Ardie currently sits on 14 All Blacks caps.
