British & Irish Lions centre Jamie Roberts was forced off injured in the annual Varsity match where he was turning out for Cambridge University.
Roberts, who will join his new club side Harlequins next week, was substituted at half-time with the BBC reporting he had sustained a dead leg in the first half of Cambridge's match against old foes Oxford University at Twickenham.
He made an immediate impact in the match when he floored Oxford's Henry Lamont, who was forced off as a result. But Harlequins will now face a nervous wait over Roberts' injury with him originally pencilled in to make his debut against Calvisano on December 18 in the European Challenge Cup.
Television cameras later showed Roberts with an ice pack on his right thigh.
