Frankie Dettori will miss the 2017 Royal Ascot meeting after a fall at Great Yarmouth last week.

The Italian jockey had been scheduled to ride six times over the five-day fixture including a ride on favourite Lady Auerlia in the King's Stand Stakes on the opening day.

However, according to reports he is still struggling with an arm injury which has subsequently forced him to miss the meeting.

Dettori's withdrawal comes on the five-year anniversary of his famous win on Colour Vision which he guided to Gold Cup glory in 2012.

John Velazquez will now replace Dettori on Lady Auerlia, the filly trained in the United States by Wesley Ward, while the rest of Dettori's rides also now seek new jockeys.
