Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak suffered a broken rib in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday, an injury that will keep him on the sidelines as Arsenal reportedly weigh a bid.
Arsenal had scouts in Tbilisi, Georgia, to watch Krychowiak as Sevilla lost to Barcelona, according to reports.
The Polish international has an affordable €30 million release clause, but he will miss Sevilla's friendly on Friday at Roma.
A statement on Sevilla's official website read: "The Pole's return to training will depend on his pain threshold.
"The team put in a titanic effort on Tuesday, Krychowiak even ending the game bandaged with a broken rib."
