Kiessling: Loew has booted me out

Bayer Leverkusen attacker Stefan Kiessling has told Express that Germany coach Joachim Loew has "booted" him out of his plans.

Kiessling, 29, has been one of the most prolific strikers in German football since the 2010 World Cup, scoring 57 goals for Bayer Leverkusen.

But despite that record, he has not won a Germany cap since the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, despite public clamour for his inclusion.

Kiessling, scorer of the infamous "ghost goal" at Hoffenheim earlier this season, had already said that it was unlikely that he would be part of the Germany squad for Brazil. In early October, Low had said: "We have agreed that he will be available if needed."

But he explained: "I got booted out. Joachim Loew has made it clear to me that he does not have any plans for me, no matter what happens. That's the end of the story."

And he ruled out playing for Germany even if the World Cup squad was hit by injury problems. "That won't happen. For me, it's no longer an issue -- and that's also the case for Joachim Low."
