SAINT-ETIENNE, France -- France goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier has signed a new three-year deal with Saint-Etienne that will keep him at the Ligue 1 club until 2018.
Ruffier, who has played 139 matches with Saint-Etienne since joining from Monaco in 2011, helped the 10-time champions to their first trophy in 32 years in the League Cup last year.
Ruffier was part of the France team for the World Cup in Brazil this summer after being called up as a cover for the injured Steve Mandanda.
The 27-year-old Ruffier sats, "I'm very proud to continue the adventure with Saint-Etienne, in a stable environment. We keep progressing together and this year's Europa League matches will be very important."
Saint-Etienne qualified for the Europa League in a group featuring Inter Milan.
