UPDATE (Jan. 3, 2017): Since the time of publication, Hjarnan and Wadid have been confirmed.
European League of Legends Team ROCCAT has finalized its League of Legends roster heading into 2017. The team will sign former Team Vitality AD carry Petter "Hjärnan" Freyschuss and former RisingStar Gaming, South Korean support Kim "Wadid" Bae-in to its lineup, sources close to both players and the organization tell ESPN.
The two members round out the roster of five for the team, which signed former Distrikt top laner Ambrož "Phaxi" Hren and former Giants Gaming jungler Nubar "Maxlore" Sarafian earlier in the offseason. The team will retain mid laner Felix "Betsy" Edling, who joined the team last January.
The replacement of four members comes after the team took last (10th) place in the European League of Legends Championship Series over the summer. It then requalified for the series after defeating FC Schalke 04's League of Legends team in the 2017 Spring Promotion tournament.
Prior to joining ROCCAT, Hjärnan competed on Team Vitality in the spring before moving to a substitute position. He's best known for his time competing on H2K Gaming, where he took third place in the European League Championship Series in 2015.
As for Wadid, the player competed in Challengers Korea Summer with RisingStar Gaming, where it took fourth place. Following his time on RisingStar Gaming, he joined SBENU for a month before its organization dissolved its League of Legends team, leaving him teamless. ROCCAT will be the first team he's competed with outside of South Korea.
ROCCAT declined to comment.
