Gary Anderson books Premier League playoff spot

Gary Anderson swept past James Wade and into the Premier League playoffs with a fine 7-3 win in Sheffield.

Anderson tied up his playoff place with a battling win on night 14 of league action in the steel city, while Phil Taylor pulled off a fine victory over world champion Michael van Gerwen.

Anderson is the third play-off qualifier, behind leader Van Gerwen and second-placed Peter Wright, but Taylor's impressive victory keeps him in the qualification shake-up too.

Wright's 7-2 victory ended Adrian Lewis' hopes of any play-off action. Wright let a 2-0 lead slip, edged 4-2 ahead and then swept home by claiming three-straight legs.

Dave Chisnall made it six wins in a row with a 7-5 victory over Raymond van Barneveld, ensuring he too remains in the play-off mix.
