Anthony Joshua's preparations for his highly-anticipated showdown with Joseph Parker appear to be going well after it was revealed that he is almost 10 pounds lighter than when he faced Carlos Takam last year.

Joshua weighed-in at a career high 18 stone 2 pounds (115.2kg) before his sucessful world title defence against Takam in Cardiff, and has made little secret of his desire to be lighter and faster when he goes toe-to-toe with current WBO beltholder Parker at the Principality Stadium on March 31.

Last month, the current WBA Super and IBF world champion revealed that he had made changes to both his diet and training regime in preparation for the bout.

The alterations seem to be paying off after promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that the former Olympic gold medalist is currently weighing a lean 17 stone eight pounds with still over a month to go until the fight.

"Stopped by the gym in Sheffield..the champ @anthonyfjoshua at a lean 17'6 in his kit pre workout," said Hearn in a post on Twitter.

Hearn's caption was accompanied by a video showing a fully-clothed Joshua stepping on a set of scales, which revealed his weight to be 112.9kg.
