Branch's MVP moment was in Jacksonville

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The last time Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch took the field at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, he tied a Super Bowl record with 11 catches and was named MVP of the Patriots' Super Bowl XXXIX victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Asked Thursday about returning to the place he achieved one of his most noted personal accomplishments, Branch said he hadn't even thought about it.

"You know what, you just brought it up," he said with a laugh. "I promise you, I wasn't thinking about that. Like I said earlier, we're just glad we've got another opportunity to go back on the field and put our type of football back together, (and) worry about the Patriots."

The memory of Super Bowl XXXIX certainly appears to be a distant one for Branch, who couldn't recall if he had been back to play in Jacksonville since.

"That's a long thought, I can't even remember," he said. "But you don't think about those things."

Not only is the trip to EverBank Field his first since Super Bowl XXXIX, it also will mark the first time in Branch's 11-year career that he will play against the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
