On July 5, Minnesota Timberwolves rookie center Justin Patton had surgery to repair the broken fifth metatarsal in his left foot. At that time, the team didn't give a timeline for his return. With training camp open, head coach Tom Thibodeau was asked to update Patton's status.
"We've just got to be patient with him," Thibodeau told the Pioneer Press. "He'll probably miss most of camp. But everyone else looks good."
Patton, the No. 16 selection in the 2017 NBA draft, will likely be be listed fourth on the center depth chart during his rookie season behind Karl-Anthony Towns, Gorgui Dieng and Cole Aldrich.
