The exodus of players from Wales shows no signs of abating with reports that Leigh Halfpenny has changed his mind about staying and decided to make the move to France.

Halfpenny's future has been the subject of ongoing speculation since the summer and, along with Sam Warburton, it has become the focus of the battle being waged by the Welsh board to keep key players from moving abroad.

But with a string of internationals moving away - mainly to France - it is now being reported in the French press that Halfpenny has decided that a move is in his best interests rather than waiting for a central contract from the WRU. With Warburton also reportedly "resigned to leaving Cardiff", this would be a massive if not terminal blow to the board's efforts.

Halfpenny is understood to be considering offers of around £500,000 from Clermont and Toulon.

In a further blow to the WRU, the Rugby Paper claimed other out-of-contract Welsh players are "confused" by the advice being given to them by the board which they say contradicts that being offered by the regions.
