We've got Fight of the Night 'in the bag' - Doomsday
John Howard has told every fighter at UFC Live to give up any hopes of getting the Fight of the Night bonus, because he and Matt Brown have got it sewn up.
Brown and Howard are both in desperate need of a victory in the welterweight division, with the former riding a three-fight losing streak, while the latter is coming off losses to Thiago Alves and Jake Ellenberger.
Howard's last victory earned him the Knockout of the Night bonus against Daniel Roberts, and he believes the UFC will be writing him another cheque come Sunday.
"It's gonna be a fight off the gate. There's no speciality, I'm not just about submissions or knockouts, my specialty is fighting," said Doomsday.
"It's about getting in here like some old school cavemen and banging each other out.
"Me and Matt Brown are bangers, we stand and bang and we like to have fun fighting. Fight of the Night easy, we got this in the bag."
Brown is also convinced the pair will put on the most memorable bout in Pittsburgh, but he insists the win is all he cares about as he attempts to save his UFC career.
"He's a tough guy. Watching his fights, I've got a lot of respect for the guy," commented Brown. "Howard has been through some wars, and he comes out with a minute left in the third round, with a tooth knocked out or having been knocked down a couple of times, and it doesn't matter. He's gonna make for a fun fight.
"I'll try to punch him in his face. I've got a lot of tools, there's not one specific thing to be afraid of. Our fight has the potential for any of the bonuses, but I'm not coming here for a bonus, I'm coming here to beat the guy and get back on track."
