UFC president Dana White has revealed Brendan Schaub could meet the winner of Cain Velasquez v Junior Dos Santos if he beats Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 134.

White was speaking at a press conference in Rio, where he was officially announcing dates for the start of ticket sales for the Brazilian event.

The card is headlined by Anderson Silva's middleweight championship bout with Yushin Okami, and also features a light-heavyweight rematch between Mauricio Shogun Rua and Forrest Griffin.

The night's other major bout sees Schaub and Nogueira clash in the heavyweight division, and White has summed up the significance of the fight by declaring the winner is likely to become the next No. 1 contender after Dos Santos.

"This is a big fight in the heavyweight division," said White. "We just saw what happened last week with Junior dos Santos. He won his fight and will now face Cain Velasquez for the heavyweight championship.

"The winner of this fight between Big Nog and Brendan Schaub puts one of these guys right in the mix of the heavyweight division."
