Jake Shields has warned Georges St-Pierre that he better be prepared to tap at UFC 129, because he is ready to take home the UFC welterweight champion's limb.

Shields brings a genuine ground threat to the Octagon on Saturday, his world class jiu-jitsu born out of the powerful Cesar Gracie team. St-Pierre is expected to dominate the stand-up, but the ground battle holds all the intrigue.

Shields' ground transitions are exemplary; he owned the likes of Dan Henderson and Paul Daley on the mat, while the slick game of Martin Kampmann was also negated on Shields' debut.

St-Pierre is a different level of fighter, who made light work of the likes of Jon Fitch, Thiago Alves and Josh Koscheck, but Shields is warning that he will feel a new type of pain come the weekend.

"I like Georges but if I get his arm and he didn't tap, I'm gonna snap it out," Shields promised.

Noises coming out of the Shields camp are suggesting the challenger's striking is much improved ahead of the Toronto showdown, and Shields insists he is happy to duke it out with the champion.

"I'm gonna strike with him, bang with him. I'll be bringing the fight to him," he said.
