Mirko Cro Cop has received a five month medical suspension after being knocked out by a devastating knee to the chin from Frank Mir at UFC 119.

The KO took place late in the third round - just 58 seconds of the contest remained - and propelled Mir into heavyweight title contention.

The fight, which was uneventful until the brutal finish, was roundly booed by the crowd - and has attracted widespread criticism since.

After such a laboured bout, there will be question marks over whether, at 36, the veteran Cro Cop has the stomach to return to the Octagon after his five-month suspension ends.

Elsewhere, Matt Serra is also staring at five months out after being dominated by Chris Lytle for the better part of three rounds.
