White: Fury 'will get smashed' by Velasquez
UFC president Dana White has opened the door for Tyson Fury to join the sport - but believes the heavyweight boxer "will get smashed" if he does so.
Fury has taken swipes at the MMA after branding it bull****, and the 24-year-old revealed he has challenged UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez to a fight three times in the past.
In light of Fury's comments, White has invited Fury to compete in the Octagon, but says he will have no chance of being a success.
"You want to fight Cain? Come on over here," White told a fan Q&A. "You will get smashed."
Fury won on his debut on US soil last Saturday against Steve Cunningham at New York's Madison Square Garden to extend his unbeaten career run to 21 bouts, but Velasquez is unimpressed with Fury over the jibes and has hit back.
"Nothing is given to you in this world," Velasquez said. "To me, it's like don't talk about it, go ahead and do it. That's all I have to say about that."
