Former WEC bantamweight champion Brian Bowles is set to make his first appearance since November 2011 by taking on George Roop at UFC 160.

Bowles will be back in action for the first time in over a year when he fights Roop on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. He suffered a loss to Urijah Faber on his previous outing at UFC 139.

Bowles had recorded two victories over Damacio Page and Takeya Mizugaki before being beaten by Faber, and previously claimed the WEC bantamweight title when overcoming Miguel Torres.

Roop is fighting once again after losing to Reuben Duran this month, with the defeat ending a two-fight win streak for the 31-year-old.

UFC 160 already has heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez against Antonio Silva and Junior Dos Santos taking on Mark Hunt. James Te Huna is also in action when he battles Glover Teixeira.
