Junior dos Santos' next opponent will be Alistair Overeem not Mark Hunt, despite the recent injury suffered by the Dutchman.

Overeem suffered a quadriceps tear in training, scuppering the much-anticipated UFC 160 heavyweight meeting with Dos Santos.

Speculation had immediately started that Hunt would step up as a replacement, but UFC president Dana White has now insisted that will not be the case.

With Overeem's injury only set to sideline him for just over a month, White is prepared to re-arrange his fight with Dos Santos for a later event.

"It's not gonna happen," White told mmafighting.com, when asked about the possibility of Hunt fighting Dos Santos next. "JDS vs. Overeem will."

Hunt had previously confirmed he was preferred to face Dos Santos, should the UFC ask him to.
