English bantamweight Vaughan Lee is heading for a high profile showdown with Urijah Faber, according to reports emerging from Brazil.

Trusted news outlet Tatame claims the bantamweight battle will be made for UFC 156, which takes place on February 2. It is anticipated that the bout will appear on the main card.

Faber is looking to bounce back after he lost to Renan Barao in an interim title encounter. The California Kid has said for some time that he expects to fight at UFC 156.

Lee's last outing saw him lose to TJ Dillashaw after a naive mistake gave up the takedown, but he boasts incredible speed and will be difficult for Faber to pin down. The Brit is no stranger to a surprise, having beaten Nurifumi Yamamoto at UFC 144.

UFC 156 is headlined by Jose Aldo's featherweight title defence against Frankie Edgar.
